New Year's Greetings from the Chairman

To all those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

We would like to express our condolences to those who lost their lives in the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1st, 2024, and extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected and their families. 
We pray for everyone's safety, for the earliest possible recovery of the disaster-affected areas, and for the peaceful return of the lives of all those affected as soon as possible.

New Year's Greetings from the Chairman

I extend my heartfelt greetings for a prosperous New Year. I trust that each of you is preparing to welcome a peaceful and fulfilling year ahead. I myself greeted this New Year, my first since assuming the position of Chairman of JSCO (Gan Chi), with a refreshed yet sobering feeling.

2024 is the year of Kinoe-tatsu in the traditional Japanese calendar. According to the theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, "Kinoe" symbolizes the growth of plants, signifying an increasing and thriving momentum, much like the robust growth of vegetation. I anticipate this year to be apt for nurturing abundant human resources, taking a step forward from Gan Chi to energize not only Japan but also contribute positively to the world. Additionally, "Tatsu" (Dragon) is a symbol of ascension. I sincerely hope that this year will be a period of significant advancement for each of you.

In October of last year, we successfully hosted the 61st Annual Meeting of JSCO, under the theme ‘Cancer Care from A to Z – Work together for synergy effects’. The event witnessed participation from 6,032 individuals, facilitating lively discussions transcending various specialized fields. This year, we are delighted to announce that the 62nd Annual Meeting will be held from October 24th (Thursday) to October 26th (Saturday) at the Fukuoka Convention Center. We eagerly anticipate the participation of many esteemed individuals.

To deliver "More Than Happy" to cancer patients and their families, we aim to strengthen collaborations between healthcare professionals and various international and domestic academic societies. It is our aspiration to create an environment where we can mutually elevate and advance each other as part of Gan Chi. Wishing you a fruitful and fulfilling year ahead.
