Message of Sympathy Regarding the Kumamoto Earthquake

On behalf of the Japan Society of Clinical Oncology, I would like to express our deepest sympathy to all those affected by the recent Kumamoto Earthquake.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and we pray for the repose of the deceased.
We also sincerely wish for the swift recovery of those who were injured and for the earliest possible restoration and reconstruction of the affected communities. We recognize that many healthcare institutions and healthcare professionals in the disaster-stricken areas are working tirelessly under extremely challenging circumstances to maintain essential medical services.
We are also mindful of the significant concerns faced by patients with cancer and their families regarding the continuation of treatment and access to appropriate care.
The Japan Society of Clinical Oncology stands in solidarity with all affected patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
In cooperation with relevant organizations and institutions, we remain committed to supporting the continuity of cancer care and providing assistance wherever possible.

We sincerely hope that all those affected will be able to regain safe, stable, and peaceful lives as soon as possible.
